After the phenomenal success of Stowed Out 2012 the Sound Out Committee, having demonstrated their ability to run a well managed event secured £10k funding through Foundation Scotland from the EDF Longpark Community Benefit Fund. This gave Sound Out the scope to improve the festival by hiring a large marquee, more toilets, children’s entertainment, but more importantly extending the music festival over 2 days and adding a high quality, month long art exhibition. The funding also allowed Sound Out book award winning heading acts for both Friday and Saturday night.
Karine Polwart headlined Friday and enthralled the crowd not just with her music but the stories behind her beautiful songs. On Saturday Meursault the Scottish indie rock led by singer-songwriter Neil Pennycook the SAY(Scottish Album of the Year) nominated band gave a stunning performance rounding off a fantastic two days of music.
