Neil Pennycook is an Edinburgh based musician performing under the name Meursault (the name represents both Neil as a solo artist and the band who regularly accompany him). In the latest album “Something For The Weakened” synths and samplers have been switched for piano and intricate string arrangements on the record, yet this evolution never compromises Meursault’s signature sound. Presently, Meursault are writing a forth (as yet untitled) album while continuing to perform regularly both locally and further afield.

The Stark Palace
The Sunday Herald – “What’s the best Scottish album of the past ten years?.. There’s a real wit at work here; an inventiveness that rewards you with constant surprises…what sets this apart is just how heartfelt – how poetic – it is. There’s more art, heart and soul going into this stuff than ..well, far too many of the so – called classic Scottish albums of the past ten years… The Stark Palace is right up there. Simply outstanding.”
