One of Sound Out’s core aims is to encourage and support young performers. As well as offering opportunities to perform at our own events Sound Out run regular workshops and training sessions.
Young people benefit from working alongside established musicians and some of the young people who cut their teeth at Sound Out events are now giging musicians.
Sessions have included Song writing workshops, Jam Sessions and Training in behind the scenes technical skills
Sound Out is also active in the community provides equipment and volunteers to help run numerous local performances where young people play a central role such as Youth Club, School and Choir.
Sound Out have also brought in established musicians such as Plum (Best electronic act at the SAMA awards 2013) to run workshops. The workshop with Plum gave young people training in the use of Loop Pedals and resulted in a short live set during Plum’s gig following the workshops
